• Rug Care Guide
Cleanliness is the first, and most major step, towards the preservation of a hand made carpet or kilim. For day to day cleaning, a normal vacuuming will do a good job removing the surface dust & dirt. You should vacuum front and back sides and turn it around once in a while.
The following solution will be required with a dry cleaning solvent, some sponge, tissue, or suitable cloth:
1) Detergent Solution 2) Vinegar Solution 3) Ammonia Solution
1 - One teaspoon of neutral detergent to a ½ pint (¼ litre) of warm water
2 - Add one teaspoon of white vinegar to the detergent
3 - Add one teaspoon of ammonia to a cup of warm water
Test all the solution, then tackle stain by working from the edge towards the centre. Test the colour fastness prior to carrying out any wet process on your rug, kilim or carpet.

Washing machines or spin dryers should never be used to clean any hand made rugs, kilims, carpets or textiles. All cleaning methods must be by hand using the correct solutions.
